RECORDS, AND W.E.A. TOOK OVER MANUFACTURE AND DISTRIBUTION - (ALL RE-ISSUES HAVE AN INSCRIPTION ON THE BACK COVER THAT READS: "This album was previously released as Sire Records LP SASD-7520" AND HAVE A DIFFERENT CATALOG NUMBER.)

ORIGINAL LABEL - WITH A RED-ISH TINGE ON THE LOWER HALF, FADING TO YELLOW AT THE TOP (THE TINGE IS QUITE SLIGHT, BUT DEFINITELY THERE).

 

IT INCLUDES ITS ORIGINAL, CUSTOM INNER SLEEVE (belt-buckle and hand pic on one side, lyrics on the other), UNIQUE TO THIS PRESSING (REISSUES REPLACED IT WITH A PLAIN, WHITE, DIE-CUT INNER SLEEVE).

 

ORIGINAL, THIN CARDBOARD COVER (NO THICK CARDBOARD COVERS WERE EVER PRODUCED FOR THIS TITLE)

 

 

THE RECORD LABEL ON SIDE ONE HAS TWO RARE MISPRINTS FOUND ONLY ON TRUE FIRST PRESSINGS OF THIS ALBUM: THE SONG 'BEAT ON THE BRAT' IS MIS-TITLED AS "BEAT IS ON THE BRAT"...and THE SONG "BLITZKRIEG BOP" IS MIS-SPELLED AS "BLITZKREIG BOP"

 

THE VINYL ITSELF HAS A ‘STERLING’ STAMP IN THE RUN-OFF GROOVES (at the end of each side), WHICH IS GENERALLY ALSO CONSIDERED AS PROOF OF AUTHENTICITY OF THIS FIRST PRESSING.

 CONDITION: COVER: ( EX- )...has some scuffing (and tiny creases) in the corners; and also on the edges...but these are minor and it's still in beautiful condition... INNER SLEEVE: ( VG++ )...has a small split on the right-hand seam (if you're looking at the belt-buckle pic), and one on the bottom seam as well...NO split on other seam...also has some foxing (light brown 'age-ing' stains...see pix)... RECORD: ( VG++ )...very tempted to grade this higher as it plays beautifully, but has a few very light marks...not many at all...and it has a lot of its original shine still...I think many people would grade this EX- or even EX...just played it all the way through and could barely detect any crackles during the music (the odd one or two only), has some between tracks and when it trails off at the end...  LABELS: (Side One: VG++ / Side Two: EX )...Side One label has 'AG.' in felt pen, plus a slightly faded are near the centre-hole where it looks like a soft pencil mark may have been removed (it's VERY mild!)...Side Two label has some spindle marks around the centre-hole - otherwise perfect... If you have any concerns about the accuracy of my gradings, please check my feedback for the odd nice comment from some satisfied folk out there....
