Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 UK albums that I have acquired over a period of more than 45 years! Here is a 1st UK pressing of Stray "Suicide' Very Very dificult to find these early originals with near mint audio. Please note! This album is listed for its rarety rather than for its condition. There is general wear and tear on the flimsy cover with age, although the vinyl is in exceptional condition and looks and sounds barely ever played at all! The vinyls playing surface is lovely and clean with the stunning audio graded very near mint through out. The audio is rich and vibrant only heard like this on the original early pressings! The 1st issue un-laminated cover printed by MacNeil Press gatefold cover now 43 years old album and now deleted has as explained above storage wear with age more details below. Very rare to find and collectable 1st UK Pressing on the 1st Transatlatic labels like this.

This Album Rocks The Audio Is So Clear And Vibrant, stunning separation Audio Graded Near Mint!

Listen to the complete album for yourself in the player below. (Actual recording from the vinyl)

Stray is an English hard rock band formed in 1966.

Vocalist Steve Gadd (born 27 April 1952, Shepherd's Bush, London), guitarist Del Bromham (born Derek Roy Bromham, 25 November 1951, Acton, London), bass player Gary Giles (born Gary Stephen Giles, 23 February 1952, North Kensington, London) and drummer Steve Crutchley (born c 1952) formed the band whilst all were attending the Christopher Wren School in London. Richard "Ritchie" Cole (born 10 November 1951, Shepherd's Bush, London) replaced Crutchley in 1968.

They signed to Transatlantic Records in January 1970.

The group's brand of melodic, hook-laden hard rock proved to be a popular draw on the local club scene during the early 1970s.

However the band did not have commercial success with its record releases. At one stage Charlie Kray (brother of the Kray twins Ronnie and Reggie), was their manager. Gadd left the band in 1975 due to artistic differences and was replaced on vocals by Pete Dyer.

The groups early musical style consisted of blues rock, acid rock and psychedelic rock. They then went on to join the hard rock and progressive rock movement.

The original Stray finally dissolved in 1977, although Bromham later continued to play in various resurrected versions of the project well into the 2000s.

There are two Iron Maiden connections to Stray. "All in Your Mind" from Stray's 1970 debut album was covered by Iron Maiden, and Maiden bassist Steve Harris's daughter Lauren has covered "Come On Over".

Suicide is the second album released by Stray in 1971. Originally released on the Transatlantic labels in the UK.

The Vinyl

This is the original and heavier and thicker \ deeper grooved type of vinyl only found on these early pressings! Later press were much more flimsier and less robust.

On initial visual inspection the vinyl playing surface is nice and clean. The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable (Note, I have double checked this there is no warping),  and still retains its original sheen from new and looks absolutely superbe, In fact it is hard for me to even see any scratches on the surface at all,, at least nothing that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops.  Any other marks that could possibly be seen angled to strong light would be light whyspy sleeve removal type scuffs only! Importantly I can see (no) needle or audio sounding marks that would cause loud annoying constant clicks or pops! It is obvious that this has been barely ever played and certainly not overplayed in my opinion.

The audio quality

I have played this vinyl track for track two times at very loud volume prior to this listing, on a top system  In my opinion it is obvious to me that visualy and audibly from the moment that the needle hits the playing surface that this vinyl has had minimal play only in my opinion.  The audio is clear sharp and very vibrant through out! Stunning top audio on my systems any static/ticks heard in quieter places are isolated and is very minor in my opinion and could do with a constant cleaning before play because this has been stored dormant for over 40 years! Note! This features the earliest possible "1" to "1" Mother stampers on both sides for the best possible audio quality on vinyl in my opinion!

The audio is awesome crystal clear and vibrant through out! Please note! With (no) signs of distortion or any signs of grooveware! Being the original 1st UK pressing makes this one of the most vibrant sounding vinyls of this pressing that I have heard, such as real pleasure to play, Please look at my completed listing of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right! THOSE WHO KNOW ABOUT THE RECORDS THAT I LIST WOULD KNOW THAT MY PRIME INTEREST IS THE AUDIO QUALITY IT IS MY OPINION AFTER PLAYING THIS ALBUM A FEW TIMES THE AUDIO IS GRADED AT THE TOP!  Please take the time to listen to the complete album in the player above digitally recorded and is much more unforgiving than analogue systems but a good way to hear any imperfections in my opinion!  I would grade the audio at  near mint in my opinion!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have given my honest opinion when describing the audio quality of this album and those who know the listings and vinyls that i sell my prime interest is the audio quality! Please allow for the odd isolated static tick in quieter places but not consistent  through out the audio!  This is a genuine (not) reissue vinyl that is 43 years old and would have been played on a system that is 43 years old!

Please note, this album has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 45 years or more. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static\ crackle. A constant clean before each play is recommended. This will reduce any static and will enhance the audio quality.

Points to note, I notice debrit on the playing surface after play so this will need cleaning before each play which will further enhance this audio quality.

The labels

These feature the 1st issued purple/white Transatlantic labels (only 1st press) Very rare and scarce to find.  These are in superb condition. Barely two or three spider traces can be seen on each side when angled to the light this has obviously barely ever been played and certainly not over played in my opinion.  No spindle ware around the the hole this is perfectly round. (UK pressing)

The cover

This is the 1st issue, 1st UK un-laminated, very flimsy type MacNeil Press Printed cover Printed in England  by MacNeil Press! Note! There is general wear and tear with age in the form of rubbing wear, edge rubbing and creases. There is a mark on the front top right where a sticker has been removed, noticed if looked for. There are light general indents noticed if looked for. There are no splits or tears and this is all intact, all text is readable. I would greade this cover at excellent.

The record sleeve

This is the poly lined plain white sleeve minor light general creasings with age. (see photos) No splits or tears!

I have had 100% positive feedback since I have been trading on ebay for the last 10 years, so please bid with total confidance
