Sinatra's music has been considered timeless by many.He is one of the , having sold more than 150 million records worldwide. Born in , to , he began his musical career in the with and . He found success as a solo artist after being signed by in 1943, becoming the idol of the "". He released his first album, , in 1946. Sinatra's professional career had stalled by the early 1950s, and he turned to , where he became one of its best known performers as part of the . My Way is an album by American singer , released in 1969.
The album is a collection of contemporary pop songs, such as 's "", and ' "", French songs such as "", and of course the anthemic title song "", which effectively became Sinatra's theme song in this latter stage of his career.
My Way was recorded and mixed at , then called Oceanway Recording. Later it was remixed and reissued by in 2009 to mark its 40th Anniversary. Two bonus tracks were included, and new liner notes from . The bonus tracks were a rehearsal of "" from 1969, for Sinatra's eponymous nominated 1969 television special, , and a live 1987 performance of "" at the, Dallas, Texas.
