Yes are an English band formed in 1968 by bassist and singer .
Yes first achieved success in the 1970s with a , and style of rock music. They are distinguished by their use of mystical and cosmic lyrics, live stage sets, and lengthy compositions, often with complex instrumental and vocal arrangements. Nine of their twenty studio albums have reached the top ten in either the UK or US, with two reaching number one in the UK. They have sold 13.5 million certified units in the US. Nineteen people in total have been a part of the band's line-up, including , ,, , and members. The band's most recent line-up consists of singer , guitarist , bass guitarist , keyboardist , and drummer .
Squire and guitarist had played together in and then . Anderson and later drummer joined a line-up of Mabel Greer's Toyshop, which evolved into Yes. Keyboardist completed the first Yes lineup. The 1970s saw Yes release the albums widely viewed as their creative peak: , (both in 1971), (1972), (1973), (1974) and (1977). For most of this period, the band included Anderson, Squire, Howe (who replaced Banks in 1970), on keyboards and Bruford, or later , on drums; Kaye and each play keyboards on one of these albums. After the relative failure of (1978) and rise of , Anderson and Wakeman left in 1980; Squire, Howe and White recorded with Downes and new vocalist , both also members of . Yes disbanded in 1981, with Howe and Downes subsequently creating .
90125 is the eleventh studio album from the English band , released on 7 November 1983 on . After the group disbanded in 1981 following their tour in support of (1980), bassist and drummer formed with new guitarist and singer and former Yes keyboardist . The group adopted a more commercial and pop-oriented direction as the result of their new material, much of it derived from Rabin's demos with former Yes singer as their producer. During the album's mixing stage, former Yes singer returned to record the lead vocals, which led to Cinema continuing as a reformed Yes.
Named after its catalogue serial number, 90125 was released to a mostly positive reception and helped introduce the band to a new generation of fans. It reached No. 5 on the and No. 16 on the and remains their biggest selling album with over 3 million copies sold in the US. Of the album's four singles, "" was the most successful, topping the Billboard and chart. "" won a for and 90125 was nominated for . Yes toured the album for one year which included two headline shows at the inaugural festival in 1985. The album was remastered in 2004 with previously unreleased bonus tracks.
