Ride 'Em Down

LTD ED blue vinyl

Rolling Stones Records 571_775-2   10" 45 rpm 2016 (EU)

The Rolling Stones have shared their searing take on Eddie Taylor's "Ride 'Em on Down" off the rock legends' upcoming LP of blues classics Blue & Lonesome.

The track dates back to the 1930s when Delta blues great Bukka White penned the track under the title "Shake 'Em on Down." Chicago blues singer Eddie Taylor recorded the track in 1955 as "Ride 'Em on Down"; it's this version that inspired the Stones to cover the track.
The Stones previously shared "Just Your Fool" and "Hate to See You Go" from Blue & Lonesome, due out December 2nd.
Rolling Stone recently spoke to the band for a cover story where the Stones opened up about the sessions that produced Blue & Lonesome and their contribution to the blues.
"The thing about the blues is it changes in very small increments," Mick Jagger said. "People reinterpret what they know – Elmore James reinterpreted Robert Johnson licks, as did Muddy Waters. So I'm not saying we're making the jumps that they made, but we can't help but reinterpret these songs."
"Ride 'Em on Down" also features a scorching harmonica solo courtesy of Jagger. "This is the best record Mick Jagger has ever made," Keith Richards told Rolling Stone while praising the singer's harmonica skills. "It was just watching the guy enjoying doing what he really can do better than anybody else… And also, the band ain't too shabby."

Note About Shipping To The U.S.
We are located in Canada, but have registered ourselves on eBay.com instead of eBay.ca because it gives us significantly better global exposure.  The problem with this is that eBay wants us to charge shipping appropriate to US, where media mail and other options make for fairly reasonable delivery costs. We tried it for a while but ended up losing money on shipping or having to cancel the orders because we couldn't afford to ship for those rates. To manage this we have set the US shipping to run a calculator based on an American location (we chose Plattsburgh as fairly close) and charging according to UPS pricing.  This avoids the cancellation issue, but appears to the buyer to be a prohibitive shipping cost and misrepresents the shipping as being only expedited. If you give us your postal code we will see if we can offer a more reasonable option, but generally we can get a single LP by air to most places in the continental US for $11, a few bucks less for ground.
