I’m digging deep into my personal collection of Beatles and Beatles-related vinyl to put up for auction MORE BEATLES PICTURE SLEEVES, MANY IN EXCEPTIONALLY NICE CONDITION! So, if you want to begin a collection of Beatles Singles Picture Sleeves or are seeking to obtain or upgrade certain picture sleeves, you will definitely want to check out my other current auctions for items you may want.
In this auction are the following: 1 original Beatles Picture Sleeve and 1 original Beatles Capitol orange-yellow swirl label 45 RPM record.
Here are the details about the record and picture sleeve in this auction:
· “CAN’T BUY ME LOVE” b/w “YOU CAN’T DO THAT” by The Beatles
· This is Capitol Records 5150.
· This record was issued March 16, 1964.
· The PICTURE SLEEVE is graded STRONG VG to VG+ CONDITION. As you can see, there is some light overall wear on the “Can’t Buy Me Love” side of the sleeve that includes a couple of small stains. The “You Can’t Do That” side of the sleeve has light overall wear and just a tiny hint of ring wear hardly significant enough to even mention. There are a couple of very tiny tears at the top edge at the opening. There is NO writing and NO seam splits on this sleeve!! The sleeve is mostly a flat sleeve.
· The sleeve has some features that grade it VG and some features that grade it higher than VG to VG+ condition.
· This sleeve has a straight cut top. (All tab-cut sleeves are counterfeit.)
· The VINYL is in STRONG VG CONDITION with some light surface hairlines/scuffs but lots of gloss.
· NOTE: This is NOT a counterfeit sleeve. It is guaranteed to be an ORIGINAL SLEEVE. Photos and printing are not blurry at all.
· As you probably know, this SLEEVE is VERY HARD-TO-FIND in ANY condition. If you can’t afford a Near Mint copy, perhaps this one is the one for you (if you are the high bidder)!
· Because so few copies of this sleeve were printed compared to other Beatles Capitol Records sleeves, it has indeed become a “Holy Grail” for collectors.
(Thanks to Perry Cox’s Price Guide for the Beatles American Records for information about this record.)
FYI: I use the COVER/SLEEVE GRADES and RECORD GRADES listed and described on page 8 of Perry Cox’s Price Guide for the Beatles American Records. These are: Good+ (G+), Very Good Minus (VG-), Very Good (VG), Very Good+ (VG+), Near Mint Minus or Very Good++ (NM- or VG++), Near Mint (NM), Mint Minus (M-), and Mint (M or MT) to VISUALLY grade the 45s and picture sleeves I auction, so please know the descriptions of these grades before bidding.
