Decca Recording:   (Both Tracks Dated 25 Sept 1964 on the Labels)
Incredible Rare Item , This Metal Acetate Disc Is Very Collectable in any Condition!

Important Note: I am selling this and other acetates for a friend
I do not know the early history or background to this acetate and I can not state and do not state, that this is an original 60s disc that was used to demo the first recordings of this album.
The recordings are 60s recordings.
Metal Acetates are generally rare in their own right.
I do know that these are metal acetates. They are heavy and have a familier smell only associated with acetates. Also see photo below of the post hole (only found on acetates)
The labels look like they are printed and not handwritten in my personal opinion.
There is no stampers on the run off grooves.
Acetates are not meant to be played that much and were made for demo purposes only, they will wear out quickly if not played on the correct equipment.
I can not state that the recordings are the same or different from previously released  material.
These acetates are to be sold as is and some surface marks/scratches or wear is to be expected as described below. Please note: Payment should be made within 48 hours of the end of the auction or an automatic non payment case will be opened by Ebay.

Here on offer is a genuine Metal Acetate, a recording of 'The Rolling Stones' "Time is On My Side" and "It's All Over Now" Note: 'Time Is On My Side' Features the organ version, Never released in UK but in the US on single, I am not sure if this is a different version or not.
Please note as abobe: I am selling this disk as an acetate as it is, and nothing else because I do not know the original history of this item.
Important Please note: I do not know the early history or background to this acetate and I can not state and do not state, that this was an original that was used to demo the first recordings of this album. The only thing that I can confirm is that it is a genuine acetate. Noted for their familier pungent smell (only found on acetates) also this disk is very heavy. Please note: The second hole noted under the labels seen only when held up against the light (see photo) These second holes are common only on genuine acetates. This is a post hole, secondary to the centre hole, for holding the record steady while recording.
These acetates were used to demonstrate recordings to disk and are not meant or designed to be played many times.
I have played the disk throughout and recorded the complete album so that you can hear this for yourself in the player below. It is noted that there are surface marks/scratches on the disc and a small mark noted at the very start/intro to the first track on side 1 causes interference/ a minor skip at this point to mention there are no loud constant clicks or pops and no distortion as I heard it in my personal opinion. Static background/crackle/ticks is noted /heard during isolated quiet places and in between tracks (common on metal acetates) but overall a very enjoyable and playable disc.

Hear the complete recording of the disc in the player below! Actual recording from the disc!

This is a 10" Metal Acetate test pressing (Factory/Demonstration sample disc)

Acetate
An acetate disc, is a type of phonograph (gramophone) record, a mechanical sound storage medium, widely used from the 1930s to the late 1950s for recording and broadcast purposes and still in limited use today.

They are also known as a test acetate, dubplate (a term from Jamaican reggae culture, now also applied to individually recorded discs of solid plastic), lacquer (a technically correct term preferred by engineers in the recording industry), transcription disc (a special recording intended for, or made from, a radio broadcast) or instantaneous disc (because it can be played immediately after recording without any further processing),

Unlike ordinary vinyl records, which are quickly formed from lumps of plastic by a mass-production molding process, a so-called acetate disc is created by using a recording lathe to cut an audio-signal-modulated groove into the surface of a special lacquer-coated blank disc, a real-time operation requiring expensive, delicate equipment and expert skill for good results. They are made for special purposes, almost never for sale to the general public. They can be played on any normal record player but will suffer from wear more quickly than vinyl. Some acetates are highly prized for their rarity, especially when they contain unpublished material.

Acetates are usually made by dubbing from a master recording in another medium, such as magnetic tape. In the vinyl record manufacturing process, an acetate master disc is cut and electroforming is used to make negative metal molds from it; each mold, known as a stamper, can be used to press thousands of vinyl copies of the master. Within the vinyl record industry, acetates are also used for evaluating the quality of the tape-to-disc transfer. They were once a favored medium for comparing different takes or mixes of a recording, and if pressed vinyl copies of an impending new release were not yet available, acetates were used for getting preview copies into the hands of important radio disc jockeys.

The Disc This is a thick and heavy 10" acetate disc. The disc lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warping. Visually I see some light surface marks /scratches noted on the playing surface. But fortunately nothing that would cause or caused any loud constant clicks or pops. It is noted that some static background crackle/ interference was heard at quiet places and intros. Light static tick or click/pop may be heard but overall very enjoyable throughout: I can confirm that this is a metal acetate disc. There are no markings or matrix numbers stamped or etched on the run off grooves. These Metal acetates have a familier pungent smell and are heavy only found with acetates. Please note: A second hole noted under the labels seen only when held up against the light (see photo) These second holes are common only on genuine acetates. This is a post hole, secondary to the centre hole, for holding the record steady while recording. (See photo below)

The Audio Quality The audio is clear and very vibrant throughout. A real raunchy rock sound produced. Note: This is a stereo recording. There are no loud constant clicks or pops. Overall a superb sounding disc. The audio is rich and very vibrant throughout. Noted a Mono recording on both sides. Note:  some interference at the intros in the form of light static background crackle and isolated startic tick/pop may be heard worth to mention.  (common on metal acetates) but during the main audio sounds absolutely stunning!  There is no distortion or signs that this has been overplayed. Audio graded at least excellent to excellent plus for the most part in my opinion! (light static crackle heard in quiet places common on acetates) Hear the full recording for your self in the player provided above remember this is a metal acetate for demonstration perposes and was not meant to be played many times.
The record sleeve This is a Decca serpier paper record sleeve  becoming fragile at the edges and beginning to split with age.
