Another from my personal collection! Stored in a case with the vinyl removed from the sleeve and cover for over 50 years! This is how I have always stored my records!  Also this is a very early original 1st UK pressing in mono. Played at very loud volume on a top system , importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge. Absolutely stunning top audio on my systems! Graded at least excellent plus to very near mint!  Any interference is just light static heard perhapes in between tracks and isolate static tick heard here and there only. This could do with a contant cleaning before play due to being stored in a case laying dormant for over 50 years. The vinyl looks barely played at all in my opinion, just minimal amount of times only and a handful of spider trails only. Complete with the original 1st UK issued Garrod & Lofthouse flipback cover and emitex poly record sleeve. Try to find another original Mono UK issue like this! Genuine 53 years old!
Listen to the complete album in the player below. Actual recording from the record listed!

The Hollies are an English pop/rock group best known for their pioneering and distinctive three-part vocal harmony style.

The Hollies became one of the leading British groups of the 1960s (231 weeks on the UK singles charts during the 1960s, the 9th highest of any artist of the decade) and into the mid 1970s.

It was formed by Allan Clarke and Graham Nash in 1962 as a Merseybeat-type music group in Manchester, although some of the band members came from towns north of there. Graham Nash left the group in 1968 to form the supergroup Crosby, Stills & Nash.

They enjoyed considerable popularity in many countries (at least 60 singles or EPs and 26 albums charting somewhere in the world, spanning over five decades), although they did not achieve major US chart success until 1966 with "Bus Stop".

The Hollies had over 30 charting singles on the UK Singles Chart, and 22 on the Billboard Hot 100, with major hits on both sides of the Atlantic that included "Just One Look", "Look Through Any Window", "I Can't Let Go", "Bus Stop", "Stop Stop Stop", "On a Carousel", "Carrie Anne", "Jennifer Eccles", and later "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress", and "The Air That I Breathe".

They are one of the few British groups of the early 1960s, along with the Rolling Stones, that have never disbanded and continue to record and perform. In recognition of their achievements, the Hollies were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.

Hollies is the Hollies' third LP for Parlophone. This is also referred to as Hollies '65 to differentiate it from the similarly titled 1974 album.

It went to No. 8 in the UK album charts. Originally available in mono only, it was reissued in stereo under the title Reflection in 1969.

In 1997, British EMI put both mono and stereo versions of this album onto a single CD.

Of the twelve tracks on this album, only "So Lonely" was issued on 45 in Great Britain; even then, it was the B-side to the 1965 hit "Look Through Any Window", a song recorded concurrent with the rest of this album. On the original album, only five of the twelve songs are band originals, attributed at the time to the pseudonym "L. Ransford" but actually written by Allan Clarke, Tony Hicks and Graham Nash. The rest were covers. In Scandinavia "Very Last Day" and "Too Many People" were issued on 45, with the former becoming a major hit in Sweden.

The song "Put Yourself in My Place" (written by Clarke, Hicks and Nash) was also recorded by Episode Six and became their 1966 debut single.

4. "Down the Line" Roy Orbison Clarke 2:03

6. "Too Many People" L. Ransford Clarke 2:38

8. "When I Come Home to You" L. Ransford Clarke 2:26

Note: All songs written by the bandmembers were attributed to the pseudonym "L. Ransford".

Side 2 ''1'' ''R''
(Look Earliest "1" to "1" Mother Stampers, Earliest for the best audio quality)

The vinyl

This is the original heavier and thicker type of vinyl (only early press) later press are much more flimsier and less robust.

(Only earliest 1st UK Pressings) This vinyl looks superb! I can barely see a blemish and this looks barely played in my opinion! Only in strong light can possibly any whyspy sleeve removal marks/scuffs be seen! Beleive me this is a real rarety! 53 years old like this!

The Audio

This was played on a top system at very loud volume prior to listing, importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge!   The audio is cristal clear and vibrant with (no) distortion at all! (no) loud constant clicks or pops heard! (note: Please allow for light static that may be heard in between tracks probably caused due to fact that this vinyl has been laying dormant in a case for over 50 years and would need to have a constant cleaning before each play. Note Debrit was seen on the playing surface after play, indicating this. Note, Isolated static tic only heard heare and teher but the main audio is stunningly clear and very vibrant throughout. No skips or jumps. I would class myself as highly critical please look at my completed listing of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right! The audio is graded at least excellent plus to very near mint in my opinion.

Points to note! This album has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 50 years! A build up of dirt and dust over the years causes static ticks\crackle. A constant clean is recomended before each play. From my personal experiance this reduces static crackle and enhances the audio quality!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have described the audio quality as honest and as I heard it. Although i never heard any major problems other than prevoiously described, Please allow for the odd light static crackle\ticks here and there (not) consistant through out the audio! Please remember that this is a genuine 53 year old vinyl that would have originally have been played on a 53 year old system!

The labels

These are the oiriginal 1st UK issue yellowe and black Parlophone labels, No major spidering, perhapes a handfull only, a little deeper on side 2. This has obviously barely ever been played in my personal opinion. The spindle hole is perfectly round and free of any wear. Note "Sold In The Uk...." text across the labeles (Only 1st UK Press) K.T Tax Code Stamped on side two (Correct For This Early 1st UK Pressing)

The Record Sleeve

This is the original poly lined Emitex patented sleeve! The vinyl has been seperated from the sleeve! Note: The sleeve is becoming fragile with age and beginning to split at the edges with browning/staining with age.

The Cover

This is the original 1st press LAMINATED FRONT UK GARROD & LOFTHOUSE'' Flipback rear cover! in nice condition!  So hard to keep in good condition. This has amaizingly (no) nasty ringware  and you really have to look for ringware to notice in my opinion (very light impression only noticed if looked for only)! Hardly any nasty storageware worth to mention on the front or rear! (no) real creases to the front or rear worth to mention, just light laminate creases lines only at the edges and bottom and spine edge and at the rear flipbacks only to mention. The spine is generally square and all text is readable. Note: very light foxing/fading/staining may be noticed only if looked for at the rear of the cover but over all this cover is lovely and clean.  This is strong and very straight must be at least excellent!
