ITEM DESCRIPTION:

This beautiful LP from Decca (LXT 5044 A, French pressing, orange/silver label, mono – no stereo version exists) features Christian Ferras' sublime renditions of Mozart's Violin Concertos No. 3 in G Major K. 216 and No. 7 in E-flat Major K. 268, both recorded in the warm acoustics of Geneva's Victoria Hall in October 1954 with Karl Münchinger leading his estimable Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra. These are beautifully pointed performances, and can be spoken of in the same breath as those by Grumiaux, Szeryng, Oistrakh, et al.

There are superb liner notes (uncredited) on the reverse side of the jacket, printed in English only. The striking cover photos are similarly uncredited.

CONDITION:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

The condition of the laminated flipback jacket is EXCELLENT. There is minor corner wear, as well as a few stray shelf marks, but really that is all. There  are no seamsplits, bends, or owners' markings, and the whole remains extremely solid, bright, and glossy – overall, an excellent collector's copy.

The condition of the LP itself is near-MINT. Though the surfaces are not perfectly silent (and thus I have rated it NM vs. MINT) this is a fine copy and playback is superb. If you must have perfect surfaces, then please do not buy this LP. Overall, this rates as a NM collector's copy.

USA Buyers: shipping delays from Spain (where I am) to the USA are extreme due to the current situation.
I apologize for the inconvenience, but I am advising USA buyers not to purchase from me at this time. Commercial shipping (e.g., UPS, DHL) is a possibility, but these are quite expensive and any such costs must be borne entirely by the buyer.
Please write with any questions, I will be happy to help.  - Posted 19 May 2020
