It features one of the favorite tunes from my bar band days, Dale Hawkin's La Do Da Da.

The first album to bring immediate national success to this tiny  groundbreaking label, International Artists. THE 13th FLOOR ELEVATORS swept from Texas, creatively and culturally led by two early drug  aficionados, Stacy Sutherland and Tommy Hall, continually coaxing along their perplexing singer, Roky Erickson. The2nd 13th FLOOR ELEVATORS LP still features Roky Erickson. More consistently cohesive the longer tracks subtly grow on the listener. The band seems to be more comfortable with their trippy, loose psychedelia invention. TRUK This Okie unit was probably more hard rock than garage rock. Its main distinction was that former Buffalo Springfield  drummer,Dewey Martin produced half the album.California folk-pop-psych that sometimes expands into a bit of baroque jazz. Dave Hassinger produced Sweetwater this 1968 cult LP for Reprise Records.In 1969 Kenny Rogers brother Leland, snatched up another group of aspiring Texas garage band acid trippers. Bubble Puppy. The groups single Top 40 hit Hot Smoke and Sasafrass put them at the top of the charts with label mates 13th Floor Elevators. This 60s Canadian garage rock group The Ugly Duckling's big claim to fame was the inclusion, in a revered Pebbles compilation, of their Just In Case You Wonder heard on this their only LP.Legendary, much sought rock trio with a bit of psychedelica thrown in. WILKINSON TRI-CYCLE on the original Date Records. In 1968 this New York state group drifted into the Big Apples famed club The Night Owl Cafe. Record producers Koppelman and Rubin produced this LP of baroque-psychedelia using a bit of  slightly weird, spacey production. It became Gandalf's only release.Mad Rivers maturation process unfolded in San Francisco. The LP is notable as a recording/playback error resulted in the final product playing higher and faster than originally recorded.  Showcasing sweet harmony and jangling guitars,   Wests   Byrds-styled cover of    Dylan's Just Like Tom Thumbs Blues hit the national record charts.
