Remastered reissue released in 2012, pressed on high quality vinyl. 

Includes the rare mono versions of the VU’s first three albums, the superior mono version of Nico’s "Chelsea Girl" (featuring Reed, Cale & Morrison) and a definitive edition of the band’s unfinished fourth album, titled "1969".

Included are:
- "The Velvet Underground & Nico" (mono, originally released in 1966)
- "White Light/White Heat" (mono, originally released in 1968)
- "The Velvet Underground" (mono, originally released in 1969)
- Nico "Chelsea Girls" (mono, originally released in 1967)
- "1969" (stereo, originally planned for late 1969 release but recording was not finished)

Housed in a beautiful "distressed" deluxe box with all original LP artwork along with two bonus poster inserts. Introduction by Rolling Stone senior editor/MOJO contributor David Fricke.

Sourced from the original Verve/MGM analog reels and mastered by Bob Irwin.
