I haverecently changed the way I grade my records and I now use the guide below. Inever describe a record as mint unless it is still sealed. I do use + signs toshow that the quality is slightly better than that described.

I am happyto be able to say that I have had very, very few complaints over the conditionof any of the records I have supplied, no doubt because of the care I take overgrading. I grade myrecords in the following way

MINT:

 Therecord is brand new with no marks or deterioration in sound quality. Insertsand cover perfect

EXCELLENT:

Shows signsof being played but with very little lessening in sound quality. The Cover andinserts might have slight wear and or creasing

VERY GOOD:

Has beenplayed many times but has no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeablesurface marks and occasional light scratches. Cover and inserts will havenormal wear and tear/slight sticker damage but no major defects

GOOD:

 Hasbeen played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated withsome distortion and mild scratches. The cover and inserts suffer from foldingscuffing and split spine, discoloration Ect.

FAIR:

The recordis still just playable and has considerable surface noise and may even jump.Cover and content will be torn stained and/or defaced.

POOR:

The recordwill not play properly. Covers badly damaged or partly missing

Bad:

Unplayable,possibly broken. Only of use as a collection filler.
