Hello and welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years. While not all the records I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on:
TITLE & ARTIST: "Sound of New Orleans 1917-1947 (Jazz Odyssey Vol 1)" - by Various Artists on the Columbia "MONO" Record label (C3L 30), in beautiful original monaural sound, issued circa 1964.    CONDITION: BOX - Excellent(Box is in good condition with some edge and corner wear, owing to several moves since I purchased it; there are some light scratches on the contents label on back - please see actual box set in photos); VINYL - Near Mint(Vinyl (All three records) are glowing and clean, ready to bring you the best vintage New Orleans Jazz music you've ever heard - visually graded under special daylight balanced spotlight).
SPECIAL FEATURES: This collection is almost beyond description. It's a tribute to Columbia Records as much as anybody. One of the finest early jazz labels, Columbia has taken 48 classic tunes from throughout the formative years of New Orleans jazz, mastered them beautifully (no sleazy enhanced stereo here), and compiled them on three glowing vinyl records in original "MONO" with their deep-groove pressings. Then they added an extensive black and white booklet with complete histories and discographies for each artist and song included, plus dozens of vintage black and white photos. Any further discussion would be damning with faint praise. Here's the low down: Don't miss this jewel.
TRACKS: Please find track information at other internet sales locations. Thanks so much!
If you have further questions about condition or content, please don't hesitate to ask. You may bid with unworried confidence. Our sales history is your assurance of absolute integrity. Thank you and good luck.
OUR GRADING SYSTEM: We grade visually, and we are happy to listen to any LP and give you an aural grade as well. SS (Still Sealed as from the factory); NM (Near Mint - our highest grade; the vinyl has only a very few light marks that do not affect play); VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus - a few more light marks than Near Mint; still a great record that plays near perfectly); VG+ (Very Good Plus - an enjoyable, played and loved, obviously used but still listenable record, usually with some light pops, but free of major audible distraction; jacket may be lightly worn, slightly dinged, even very lightly split, but NEVER trashed); VG (Very Good) and below - we usually do NOT sell these, but if we have some good reason to offer such a record, we will explain completely).
