Hello and welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years. While not all the records I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on:
TITLE & ARTIST: "The Columbian Limited Real Train Sounds" - on the Columbia Record label (MJV 125), in beautiful original monophonic sound, issued circa 1951.
CONDITION: LABEL - EX(Labels are in excellent condition; each label has a name printed on it, and side has a record speed designation that's different from the one printed on the sleeve - please see actual album in photos); RECORD - Near Mint(This record is spectacularly beautiful, especially considering its age and target market - visually graded under special daylight balanced spotlight). NOTE: The attached photo is of the specific item offered; please examine it carefully. Thanks.
SPECIAL FEATURES: Now for some FUN! This 10" Columbia record was issued circa 1951, and featured real steam train sounds recorded "live and in the field". The front cover of the sleeve bears this notation:
"This recording can be used as realistic live background sounds for model and toy trains or enjoyed for the pleasant excitement train sounds can give."
It is in astonishingly good condition considering its age and "child play" designation. If you love the world of children's "real life" records from nearly seven decades ago, please don't miss this one. SPECIAL NOTE: The jacket front cover bears a printed name and printed record speed. The back cover bears what appears to be an original price sticker.
TRACKS: Both sides feature "Real Train Sounds"
Thanks! If you have further questions about condition or content, please don't hesitate to ask. You may bid with unworried confidence. Our sales history is your assurance of absolute integrity. Thank you and good luck.
OUR GRADING SYSTEM: We grade visually, and we are happy to listen to any LP and give you an aural grade as well. SS (Still Sealed as from the factory); NM (Near Mint - our highest grade; the vinyl has only a very few light marks that do not affect play); VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus - a few more light marks than Near Mint; still a great record that plays near perfectly); VG+ (Very Good Plus - an enjoyable, played and loved, obviously used but still listenable record, usually with some light pops, but free of major audible distraction; jacket may be lightly worn, slightly dinged, even very lightly split, but NEVER trashed); VG (Very Good) and below - we usually do NOT sell these, but if we have some good reason to offer such a record, we will explain completely).
