Brand new, factory sealed 180 gm vinyl record in a gatefold sleeve released for Record Store Day 2020 Drop 3.
1978 was a banner year for Dexter Gordon. Maxine Gordon (then Gregg) had started to manage his career and proved to be a one-woman tour de force. In signing with Columbia boosted his career. He moved to New York, forming and grooming his own band all at age 52! The wonderful quartet included George Cables on piano, Rufus Reid on bass, and Eddie Gladden on drums. This November 1978 concert at the Châteauvallon Jazz Festival highlights Dexter's joyous and fiery mood, peppering his solos with outrageous quotes from other songs.
Pressed on 180-gram vinyl for the first time.
