With a great variety of styles, sounds, and moods, it features some of Allen Toussaint's strongest writing. Several of the cuts were covered by major artists; the title track, by the Pointer Sisters, Robert Palmer with Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley and Ringo Starr cut Occapella.
