OTIS SPANN sealed BIGGEST THING SINCE COLOSSUS w FLEETWOOD MAC Blues Horizon LP
In January of 1969 Fleetwood Mac ventured to Chicago for sessions at Chess Records legendary South Michigan Avenue studios. The blues stylings of guitarists Peter Green and Danny Kirwin plus the solid bass of John McVie impressed many Chicago blues stalwarts. Mac's exuberance on Dig You and Walkin perfectly matched Otis Spann's exciting, emotive singing so much that the longtime Muddy Waters' pianist asked them to join him recording his next LP. The disc includes the classic Country Girl and a seven-minute Someday Soon Baby. Mac manager and producer Mike Vernon released the finished product on his Blue Horizon label.
