A Timeless Classic: MY FAIR LADY - AUDIOPHILE STEREO Ed1 from 1959 in Near Mint A Timeless Classic: MY FAIR LADY - AUDIOPHILE STEREO Ed1 from 1959 in Near Mint Description

George Bernard Shaw's 1913 stage play, Pygmalion, was an inspiration to many who believed that through hope and effort - one's "station" in life could change. For most of human history this was not so - one was born into a particular social standing - one that lasted a lifetime.

In the 1950's, Alan Jay Lerner (Lyrics) and Frederick Lowe (Music) created one of Broadway's most popular musicals - based on Pygmalion - My Fair Lady.

In 1956, Columbia Records produced a number of long play, mono recordings of the stage play (the movie was not released until 1964). In 1959, as stereo was becoming the preferred fidelity for recorded music, Philips released the first stereo fidelity for My Fair Lady.

Offered here is that Philips release - on their "Hi-Fi" Stereo Label - now regarded as an Audiophile Pressing, in superb Near Mint, Investment Grade condition:
