Altar Boris & Sunn))) 3 LP (clear vinyl) Southern Lord 2007 (Khanate Earth). Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Parcel Select Ground. The lps have only been played through once back in 2007/08 when I purchased this release 'brand new' at a local record store here in the Peoria, IL area. The discs are excellent/mint as they literally have been in storage ever since (13 years!!). The original shrink wrap cellophane was removed but the original Altar 'hype' sticker is included (see pic). There are many obvious damaged areas to the item (especially to the 'pull-out' sides of the LP jackets and corners of the cardboard sleeve (see pics). There is also a crease on the upper left side of thefront cover (see pic). Overall a rare and out of print item (if you prefer the clear or black vinyl versions...they seem to be the lesser-seen versions) from my research anyway. This item has some pretty heavy duty packaging (3 LPs and a nice thick cardboard sleeve, and lyric booklet...so I will make sure it is well packaged (hence the $10.00 Media Mail shipping/handling fee).
*** I DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS, so for a rare and pricey item like this... (I highly recommend the upgraded shipping option provided in case of loss or damage to the package). It's up to you.
Ultra-dark experimental super-group ALTAR (members of the infamous Sunn))) and Japanese noise-rock gods Boris) collaborated to record and release a slab of eerie dark-ambient rumblings and strange yet seductive drone-metal soundscapes. Still convincing ears 14 years after it's release that this is a pretty serious and monumental output from two of the biggest names from the dark drone/experimental metal underground. Featuring Soundgarden man Kim Thayil on a track and some awesome artistic packaging...especially the 'Children of the Corn' themed band photo (I live across from a corn field so I can relate -ha). I honestly just don't get much time to listen to my vinyl collection as I record my own music on a constant basis (look up Somnolence 'As Midgard Weeps' or 'Voluspa' or my old dark-ambient project Subterranean Drift 'Cavernous Underworld' album (a collaboration of me and Rick Wynn of Infirmary (harsh noise IL) and his latest more experimental project Vakash). I am downsizing for a smaller house and just need to declutter items that are basically collecting dust. So I would rather these albums actually be listened to and assist in the erosion of your own version of American idealism (depressive music is the best music -haha).
Thanks for looking. Smoke-free home. -Devon
