There are EIGHT 45 RPM RECORDS by The Beatles and George Harrison in this auction. They all have orange Capitol labels. One of them is a 1st PRESSING and the other seven are reissues. SIX are in NEAR MINT & NEAR MINT MINUS CONDITION and TWO are in VG+ CONDITION.

These orange Capitol label reissues were the FIRST CAPITOL REISSUES of the Beatles singles after discontinuation of production of the Apple Records label in 1976.

According to Perry Cox & Frank Daniels:

Capitol Records began pressing its singles with the orange label in November, 1972. Because all Beatles records were being pressed with Apple labels at that time, Beatles singles did not appear on the orange label until 1976 when Capitol ceased pressing records with Apple labels.”

Beatles singles on orange Capitol labels were issued from January, 1976 to March, 1978.

Here is a list of the records in this lot:

The Beatles: Got To Get You Into My Life” b/w “Helter Skelter”, Capitol Records 4274; STEREO is printed on the labels. This is a FIRST PRESSING that was issued May 31, 1976. (First Pressings do NOT have the George Martin production credit printed on the labels.) CONDITION: VG+ with some very light surface hairlines/scuffs

The Beatles: Help!” b/w “I’m Down”, Capitol Records 5476; Neither MONO nor STEREO is printed on the labels. This is a FIRST CAPITOL REISSUE. CONDITION: VG+ with some very light surface hairlines/scuffs

The Beatles: Get Backb/wDon’t Let Me Down”, Capitol Records 2490; STEREO is printed on the labels. This is a FIRST CAPITOL ISSUE. (It was first issued on Apple) CONDITION: NEAR MINT (NM)

The Beatles: Yellow Submarineb/wEleanor Rigby”, Capitol Records 5715; MONO is printed on the labels. This is a FIRST CAPITOL REISSUE. CONDITION: NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) with a few very light surface hairlines/scuffs

George Harrison: My Sweet Lordb/wIsn’t It A Pity”, Capitol Records 2995; STEREO is printed on the labels. This is a FIRST CAPITOL ISSUE. (It was first issued on Apple) CONDITION: NEAR MINT (NM)

All 7 records are in TAN CAPITOL STOCK SLEEVES WITH RED PRINTING which I believe are the correct stock sleeves that were issued with the 6 Reissues. The first pressing record was issued with a picture sleeve and without a picture sleeve in a tan and red stock sleeve.

The SLEEVES are typically in VG CONDITION. One has a couple of very small tears at the top opening, and there is some light wrinkles/folds on one, but there are NO seam splits and NO writing on the sleeves.

A VERY NICE LOT of 1970’s BEATLES SINGLES in GREAT CONDITION. Perhaps you’re looking for them to start or complete a set!
