This is Megadeth’s thrashtastic 4th album, Rust In Peace. Upon release, the album received universal critical acclaim for its technicality, musicianship, precision, speed and tight playing. This album began to crack at the mainstream wall which essentially ignored and eluded Megadeth’s grasp for years until their following smash hit 5th album. This album also marks a long tenure with the introduction with new lead guitarist Marty Friedman. This album carried demons fighting amongst themselves in Dave’s life at the time. Dave wanted to at least attempt at getting sober and achieved this goal only at least either between 9 months to somewhat over a year before Dave caved in to his demons again sometime after the concluding tour in 1991. He believed that he relapsed because he was feeling inadequate in comparison to Marty’s playing ability. He also believed that he had not progressed or gotten better as a guitarist. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA in 1994. The jacket has obvious corner, edge and spine wear. But strangely enough, no ring wear.
