The return to action for Polytechnic Youth’s sister label, the kraut / psych flavoured Deep Distance is impeccably timed with the mighty new full length from Germany’s CRYPT WITCH. Following 2019’s instant sell out, instant cult status, instant high discogs priced debut “Bad Trip Exorcism”, the band return with the equally massive “Ritual Herbs”.

Seven cuts, heavy on lysergic, stoned out jams leaning at various points towards whacked out live improv Hawkwind or early Spacemen 3 live boots, with of course healthy tips of the hat to prime era Sabbath thrown in, to boot. Recorded at the bands’ own Misanthropic studios, it ticks all the boxes for what is now the classic CW sound: heavy repetitive psychedelia with a foot apiece in the Stoner and Doom camps too- this is another wonderful record is expected to fly in super quick style.

Pardon the pun, but mainman Eugen cryptically offers up “"From the darkest pits of the crypt, the witch's coffin nails are broken open and the ritual can begin once more.
