Here is a NICE BOX SET for the vinyl collection of the high bidder.

THE CONCERT FOR BANGLA DESH by George Harrison & Company (Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Billy Preston, Leon Russell, Ringo Starr, Klaus Voorman, Badfinger, and Ravi Shankar)

This is Apple Records STCX – 3385.

This is a FIRST PRESSING of this APPLE RECORDS BOX SET! We know this because the initial boxes have an orange interior. Second pressing boxes have a white interior.

This 3-record box set has custom Apple labels.

This box set was issued December 20, 1971.

The box set contains:

Box with Unattached Lid that holds the contents

3 Vinyl LPs

3 Tan Inner Sleeves

64-Page Concert Color Booklet

This concert is historic, as it was the FIRST BENEFIT ROCK CONCERT, and it brought together many great musical talents to raise money to aid the starving population of Bangla Desh.

It has MANY GREAT CUTS in this box set from the live concert including the following:

By George Harrison: Something, Here Comes the Sun, Bangladesh, My Sweet Lord, Wah-Wah, Awaiting on You All, Beware of Darkness, and While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

By Bob Dylan: A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall, It Takes a Lot to Laugh/It Takes a Train to Cry, Blowin’ in the Wind, Mr. Tambourine Man, and Just Like a Woman.

By Ringo Starr: It Don’t Come Easy

By Billy Preston: That’s the Way God Planned It

One side is devoted to the music of Ravi Shankar (sitar).

Eric Clapton, Leon Russell, Klaus Voorman, and the Apple band Badfinger are additional Back-Up Musicians.

The TEXTURED BOX itself is in NICE VG CONDITION with light to moderate overall wear. The LID has a few light scuffs on the front. There is a light sticker stain at the upper right corner and a small mark about 4 inches below it. On the lid’s edge where the box set title is printed, there is a small scuff between the “8” and the “5” in the catalog number. The BOTTOM has a name “Beal” written in ballpoint at the top left corner. The bottom of the box has a small smudge near the upper center edge. The bottom has more wear than the lid (mostly around the edges), since it probably sat/rested on the bottom and experienced more wear by being slid around with the bottom in contact with a surface. There is some light wear on the edges of both the lid and the bottom. The LID’S CORNERS and the BOTTOM’S CORNERS are perfect!!! There is not a single corner split as is often the case with so many of these Bangla Desh LP boxes box sets. (Please refer to image of lid sitting on top of the bottom showing all corners.)

The VINYL (all 6 sides) is overall in VG+ CONDITION with very light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs (none are “feelable”). The vinyl has LOTS of GLOSS.

The 3 TAN INNER SLEEVES are included and are in VERY NICE CONDITION. These are the CORRECT TAN INNER SLEEVES for this pressing. One sleeve has a 1-inch split in the middle of the bottom edge. Both of the other two sleeves have a 1-inch split in the middle of a side edge. One sleeve has a very small light smudge near the top opening on one side. They have light to moderate signs of handling.

The 64-PAGE BOOKLET is COMPLETE with NO PAGES MISSING and NO CUT-OUTS. It is in VERY STRONG VG+ CONDITION with just some light signs of handling.

IT’S A NICE 1st PRESSING OF THIS GEORGE HARRISON BOX SET OF THIS LEGENDARY CONCERT TO ADD TO YOUR VINYL COLLECTION!
