Further Details
This is the very rare MONO label issue of Elvis’ first album. A great addition to any collection.
Items of Note
In 1963 RCA changed its LPM label from reading LONG PLAY at the bottom of the label to MONO. The first two new Elvis albums to be released on this new label were “Elvis’ Golden Records Volume 3” and “Fun in Acapulco” in August and November of 1963. Earlier Elvis albums were also re-issued on this new label. The next year, in 1964, RCA changed the label once again. This time, the silver “MONO” was changed to “MONAURAL” and Nipper the dog was changed from silver to white. The short run of the “All Silver” MONO labels makes these records all the more rare and hard to find.
