Our Memories of Elvis (AQL1-3279) ~ w/ Black Rectangular “Are You Sincere” Sticker
Label: Black DNT
Vinyl: NM / VG++
Cover: VG++

Further Details

The cover and sticker are excellent, with just some minor wrinkling of the shrink along the side of the opening. However, there are no rips or tears. The record is NM on Side A and VG++ on Side B.

Items of Note

There were two different hype stickers produced with this album. One was a round, brown sticker advertising the song “Are You Sincere,” and the other was the rarer black rectangular sticker (advertising the same song) that is found on this cover.

The intent of this record, as described on the back cover, was to provide fans with the sound of Elvis as he would have heard it himself in the studio, without the “additional accompaniment.” It was followed up with the release of “Our Memories of Elvis, Vol. 2”. By the way, have you noticed that the catalog number does not appear on the front or back cover, but only on the spine?

Have you ever noticed that the first few notes (along with the first two words) of the song “Are You Sincere” are the same as “Are You Lonesome Tonight?” I have to admit that there has been more than one occasion that I have heard the start of this song and immediately thought I was about to hear a live version of “Are You Lonesome Tonight.”

A Little About Me

I first became an Elvis fan in the fall of 1976 and received my first Elvis record for Christmas that year (from my uncle – it was a tan label “Live at Madison Square Garden” because my uncle liked the song “Never Been to Spain”). I am selling some of the records from my collection in hopes that they may bring as much joy to other Elvis fans and collectors as they have to me.

All records are shipped via media mail in cardboard record mailers designed specifically to ship records safely and securely. Records will be shipped outside their covers to prevent any potential seam splits from developing in transit.
