CONDITION EX(-)

Vinyl is bright and clean with a few light marks. A very slight warp/dishing NAP. Plays well with a few light background crackles - no skips or jumps. Labels are bright - sticker stating ‘Raymond Trickitt Sir Collins Music’. Original (unique?) sleeve is bright and flat - old tape residue on edges, writing on back - VG+. Paper inner. See photos.

I can’t see any other examples of this online but maybe someone on the forums will provide you with more information.

I’m guessing it is a piece of fan art drawn on the original stamped sleeve. I don’t think it is printed but it doesn’t come off with light moisture, as you’d expect pen or pencil to do. It isn’t signed as far as I can tell. It has quite good detail if you look closely.

I suppose potentially it could have been an idea for a cover design- I know Michael was sure he had a mock-up of a more famous rock cover at one point - but Michael hasn’t made any notes about this and with his graphic design background, I think there would be if he’d considered that option.

This record comes from the collection of the late Michael de Koningh - reggae historian, regular contributor to Record Collector magazine, and co-author of “Young, Gifted and Black - The Story of Trojan Records” and “Tighten Up - The History of Reggae in the UK”.

*** GRADING ***

I grade visually under a daylight lamp so my grading may be harsher than some and I listen to samples of the record through headphones, picking up light background crackles that may not be obvious through speakers. I use an excellent vintage DJ turntable and stylus and a slight weight on the arm.

My gradings are from M-Mint to G-Good. I rarely grade M unless the item is sealed.

I use Tracked or International Tracked and Signed. I don’t send items without tracking.

I use professional packaging and board stiffeners for protection. I separate disc from cover for LPs/picture sleeves. I tape your item up well to avoid split seams on packaging so please open your package with extreme care.
