Kirk is a remarkable and fascinating performer. He became blind at a very young age, but he never allowed that disability to dissuade him from his passion for music. He played multiple instruments including saxophones and the flute. In fact, he often played multiple instruments at the same time. You will hear some of that on this album. This was his masterpiece. It established him as a legitimate jazz superstar. This album just blows the listener away. The music is soulful and intense. It’s a spectacular collection! The album was released on Atlantic in 1973, number SC 1502. This is a repress of the album originally released in 1968. It is the hard-to-find release that has SD 1502 on the label and SC 1502 on the cover. The vinyl is in beautiful condition with its bright original luster. It plays with almost no background noise. The album cover is solid and looks great.
