Up for sale is a rare 78 rpm record by Malcolm Yelvington on the Sun Records label. This first pressing record features the songs "DRINKIN' WINE SPODEE-O-DEE" and "JUST ROLLING ALONG" and is in M- condition! I rarely go above a VG++ (V++ by VJM rating) but my father kept exceptionally good care of all his records and some never saw the light of day after purchase 50 years ago. My father had arguably the largest collection of Sun records and was writing a book about Sam Phillips, Sun Studios and information about every single 45 and 78 recorded in the ‘50s. His notes included correct matrix numbers, which were “delta” aka California Pressings, which had push marks and which did not. and the relationships between Sam and the musicians including the falling out with Tommy Blake which lead to the destruction of all remaining #300 45’s. Some made it to the shelves and there are some left today as Popsike will show. I don’t think more than one or two mint condition copies are left…..

The vinyl matrix number on this 78 has a rare etching error on the A-side where U-134 was etched twice followed by the usual small #72. The b-side has U-135 #72.
