This 1980 German import stereo album of Sergei Prokofiev's Alexander Nevsky from Deutsche Grammophon (2531 202) features performances by the London Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, conducted by Claudio Abbado and chorus master Richard Hickox, and featuring Elena Obraztsova (mezzo-soprano).
Album notes are in German, English, French and Italian. A large (album-sized) tri-fold booklet is included, with extensive discussions of the work and the composer by Michael Stegemann and Ates Orga, plus lyrics. A tear-out newspaper review of the album by Robert C. Marsh of the Chicago Sun-Times, circa 1980, is also included.
The outer sleeve shows a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back (Photo 2).

This is one of many titles from an extensive collection of classical LPs and CDs that we will be listing here. All have been carefully stored for many years, played only on premium equipment, and show little to no wear.
NOTES: Album sleeves may have a small index sticker, usually in the upper right corner of the back, which was applied when the album was first purchased for this private collection.
