For sale is perhaps the breakout show from the Grateful Dead's massive 30 show 30 year career retrospective box set 30 Trips Around the Sun from 2015. This was the first of those shows to be released on vinyl, and was released in 2016, limited to 6,700 copies in honor of the year 1967. The show was recorded in multitrack, and came just a few weeks after Mickey Hart joined the band. Opening this triple LP is one of the most scintillating versions the Dead ever performed of the 1920s Noah Lewis jugband song Viola Lee Blues. Also included are versions of Morning Dew, Good Morning Little Schoolgirl, an early version of That's It For The Other One suite, with alternate lyrics in The Other One, then the rare Phil Lesh song New Potato Caboose on side 4. Sides 5 & 6 close things out with an outstanding early offering of Alligator> Caution (Do Not Stop On Tracks). Most reviews I've seen of the 30 Trips box have singled out this show as one of, if not the best show in the entire box. It is one of just 3 of the shows to be recorded in multitrack. This sounds even better to my ears on vinyl than the cd version. Make an offer for this must have show from the Good Ol' Grateful Dead!
