This is Geffen Records PRO-A-919.

This is a 12-INCH PROMOTIONAL SINGLE RECORD.

It was released October 23, 1980.

The rear cover has the printing:

“From the Geffen Records John Lennon/Yoko Ono

– Double Fantasy (GHS 2001)”

This 12-inch Promotional Single was issued to promote the “DOUBLE FANTASY” LP.

It has the same image that is on the “DOUBLE FANTASY” LP cover.

Both LABELS have “PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR SALE” printed on them.

As you probably know, PROMOTIONAL RECORDS were pressed in very limited quantities and were only made available to the DJs/Radio Stations for on-air play. They were NOT made available for sale to the general public. This makes them VERY desirable and sought after by vinyl collectors.

“(JUST LIKE) STARTING OVER” by John Lennon is very significant, because the song is Lennon's biggest solo hit in the United States. It stayed at #1 for five weeks. It was Lennon's final single released in his lifetime.

The song reached #1 in both the US and UK after Lennon was murdered on December 8, 1980.

“(JUST LIKE) STARTING OVER” on this PROMOTIONAL 12-INCH SINGLE IS SIGNIFICANT because it features a longer fade-out with the song officially running at four minutes and 17 seconds (4:17) which is printed on the label. However, commercial releases of the song (on original 45rpm singles, LPs and CDs) have a running time of three minutes and 54 seconds (3:54).

The COVER is in STRONG VG to VG+ CONDITION with LIGHT to MODERATE OVERALL WEAR that includes: light to moderate wear on the corners and edges; some small light surface creases near the spine on both sides; very light partial ring wear; 3 light to moderate surface creases at the upper right corner on the front and 1 in the corresponding location on the rear; and a couple of very small pushes on two corners. There are NO seam splits, NO tears and NO writing on this cover.

Due to the primarily black/dark cover, this is a tough LP cover to find in Near Mint condition.

The VINYL is in NEAR MINT (NM) CONDITION

Overall, a NICE COPY of this John Lennon 12-INCH PROMOTIONAL SINGLE that will be a GREAT ADDITION to someone’s Beatles or vinyl collection!!!
