Here we have a 1964 UK 1st stereo press of Sonny Stitt - Stitt Plays Bird on the blue Atlantic Stereophonic label.
The heavyweight record has been Degritter cleaned and has come up very shiny with only faint paper marks and one minor scuff visible on Side 1.The labels and spindle holes are clean with only a couple of faint spindle trails. Lovely condition for a 60 year old - we have graded EX.
The sound quality is vibrant, warm and very engaging with great stereo imagery and dynamics. Only light noise on the run in - better than many modern pressings. Lovely uplifting & upbeat jazz guaranteed to get your toe tapping!
The flipback laminate outer sleeve has the distinctive artwork of Marvin Israel and is in VG+ condition - the main issue being age related discolouration. No splits, writing, tape or tears. Some brown marks to the rear.
The wonderful original inner sleeve with full explanation of newfangled Stereophonic sound is present & still doing a great job of keeping the record in great condition.
A lovely original copy in fully cleaned and tested condition ready to pop straight onto your turntable & enjoy!
