To celebrate 60 years of this influential song, a limited edition 7” white iridescent vinyl featuring the original mono single mixes of both “A Change Is Gonna Come” and “Shake” is being released on the 29th November (Black Friday/RSD in the US).
“A Change Is Gonna Come” was recorded in January 1964 and was included on Cooke’s 1964 studio album Ain’t That Good News.
Its single release didn’t come until two weeks after Cooke’s death in December 1964 when it was released as the B-Side to the Billboard Top 10 single “Shake.
