I am listing some rare Floyd titles over the coming weeks, most in superb condition and have had little, if any, play. Part of some unsold stock from an independent record store which closed down in Newcastle.
So, for sale here we have a rare chance to buy a copy of the bands "The division bell" album. This is the picture disc version, and quite rare in the fact it comes in a gloss finished gatefold cover, unlike most that come in a hard plastic pouch.
A word or two about picture discs. They seldom sound as good as vinyl records. The manufacturing process slips a paper picture over a central vinyl core, which is then covered in several layers of a plastic material. The groove is pressed into the plastic layers. It is often the case that there is background noise present, so please do not expect a copy that plays to pure vinyl quality. However, the appeal of the picture discs is absolutely undeniable.
The gatefold cover is in quite lovely condition with just a ding to the top right corner (front) top left corner (rear). The disc itself looks pretty much mint.
This piece is a real work of art and highly collectable.
