This listing is for a rare factory sealed copy of the Gamble Folk - "Thinking With The Gamble Folk" LP.

 

This Christian folk LP features Steve Gamble on guitar and vocals; Renee Gamble on vocals; Gary Gamble on vocals; Steve Johnson on guitar; Jerry Nelson on piano & orchestration; Judy Penderson on organ, harpsichord and celeste; Tom Tjornhom on bass; Denny Le Voir on flute; and Dick  La Vay on drums.

 

Album Review:

"Thinking With finds the trio expanding beyond the simple acoustic format to include broader instrumentation, the end result being an appealing warmhearted mellow folk sound. Nil orchestration (unlike their subsequent Edify lps), with emphasis on acoustic guitar, flute and the threesome's stirring harmonies. Less of the strummed '60s standards format, more toward a moody finger-picked style, periodically filled in with apropos use of organ, harpsichord, celeste, piano and light-rock percussion. Includes a number of their own songs, some of which are re-interpreted from their first album, while others like 'Thinking', 'Two Worlds' and the delightful 'Rain, Snow, Sunny Weather' make their debut here. Also includes covers of Tom Paxton ('Cindy') and Linda Rich ('Man Of Galilee' and 'Walking With Jesus'). Gee, a couple of these songs even have a pleasant folk/psych appeal." - Ken Scott - The Archivist

 

There is no date listed on the album anywhere but after seeing listings of 1972 & 1974 with a ? after the date, I found the album advertised in Billboard's November 6th, 1971 edition. 

This record is on the "Creative Sound" record label.
