THE COMPLETE RIVERSIDE RECORDINGS
This is a magnificent example of jazz played in its heyday by some of the highest calibre musicians and ensemble available (see photo). Bill Evans (for example: he played with Miles Davis on 'Kind of Blue' et al) was a magnificent pianist and this set: now hard to obtain: features the complete catalogue of his Riverside Recordings with some tracks hard to obtain elsewhere. Several of the tracks listed come in two different versions as well. The names of the tracks say it all about the melody, tone, rhythm, atmospherics and timbre of the music produced in this era.
But also: this is beautiful item to own and play. As you can see: the packaging is sublime with each LP housed within a red sleeve. The albums are accompanied by a glossy booklet containing informative article, unique photographs, and a full discography.
