Hello metalheads!!! We continue to offer Christian metal in our auctions and now it is time for Sacrament "Testimony of Apocalypse" vinyl album. Sacrament considered as  top thrash metal band from Pennsylvania (USA). Even so, the band never reached  cult status and become a hidden treasure for death/thrash fans. Here you are several reviews: An awesome, clearly overlooked contribution to the Christian thrash scene. A phenomenal rythym-guitar based recording, with tremendous time changes and innovative, scary tempo's and vocals. Doomy sounding, fast, complex, yet highly bass heavy, when the complex stuff seems to be all "high end" treble-heavy. The message was great, particularly the lyrics to "Valley of Dry Bones"...("SLOW DEATH, rotting in agony CORPSE OF FEAR...clawing from in-side your graaaaave"...) The follow up "Haunts of Violence was a tremendous letdown, with John Schlitt of Petra doing the vocals (just kidding, but the guy sounded like Schlitt)...and minus at least one, maybe two rythym guitars. A very special recording. So special, I'm looking to score the LP. My tape is wearing out (!!). 
Sacrament - Testimony of Apocalypse (released 1990) Sacrament is one of the top bands in  Christian thrash music and this debut album from the band offer proof of that claim. The band,  consisting of Mike Torone on vocals, Mike DiDonato handling the lead guitar, Erik Ney on bass  and Paul Graham on drums, offers some head-pounding, heart-stopping thrash that will leave  listeners in awe. The music is fast and furious with the energy to match. Sacrament plows head  first with speed metal and adds the choppy thrash chops to give the music the biting feel.  Listeners dont get much rest on this album as the pace and intensity is at full speed ahead.  There are some melodic parts on this effort but are kept to a minimum. DiDonato handles the guitar  with skill and plays some excellent chords throughout the LP. There is not a lot of diversity of guitar tone on this but in this case the similarity of the music is what makes the LP interesting.  The drumming holds it own on Testimony of Apocalypse. The tempo of the drums change pretty  rapidly from track to track on this album. It is interesting to listen to the drums as they meld with the guitars. Vocally Torone puts in good performance. His vocals are very deep at times moving between  shouting and more spoken lyrics. He does a good job leading out the lyrics at various points on the  album which adds emotion to the lyrics. Additional energy would help his vocals a lot though. It seems like they are flat in spots. Sacrament really shines in the lyrical department. The band puts the entire  package together with some excellent lyrics that are thought-provoking and Biblically serious.  The band includes references to particular Scripture passages on each song. Listeners can hear about such topics as Christs victory over death, being freed from the bondage of sin and how to receieve the  gift of Salvation. People who appreciate good lyrics and good music will be very happy with this LP. Songs on the album include Testimony Of Apocalypse, Slave To Sin, Hellfire Denied, Repentance,  Valley Of Dry Bones, Mortal Agony, Conquer Death, Absence Of Fear, The Risen and Blood Bath. Sacrament's first LP is an excellent start. People who appreciate the best of metal will want this LP and it is a great opportunity to let the music tell people about Christ.
