Abner Jay (1921 – 1993) was an American multi-instrumentalist, who is best known for performing eccentric, blues infused folk music, as a . His idiosyncratic lyrics and style have led some to consider his work .Common instruments on his recordings include , drum kit, a six-string (that Jay claimed was made in 1748), and the “bones”, which were chicken and cow bones that had been bleached in the sun and used to create percussion. Jay’s song repertoire included field songs, Pentecostal hymns and tunes. This album is from a collector and appreciator of Abner Jay. Well loved and cared for.

Grading: Records are graded conservatively on a scale of: NM (rarely applied to a used record, must look absolutely pristine), EX (a true top copy worthy of any collection with 1 or 2 truly minor imperfections), VG+ (a minimal amount of marks may be seen under bright light with none deep enough to significantly effect playback), VG (perfectly good playing copy but may show slightly more than minimal marks with 1 or 2 maximum being feel-able), VG- (still an eminently listenable record that will show numerous superficial and possibly several more impacting marks), G (will play through but could be a "noisy" listen the result of numerous surface marks of various severity).
