CLAYMATION CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION Vinyl Record 1988 LP
A little background...
"The California Raisins," were a fictional R&B group initially the backbone of a popular ad campaign funded by the California Raisin Advisory Board. It's lead vocals were sung
by musician Buddy Miles. The public loved them.
The broad appeal of the Raisins led to numerous, higher-visibility projects in the recording industry, TV Specials and an episodic cartoon. One high point was their "Claymation Christmas Celebration." Airing on the CBS December 21st, 1987, this cute, clever, creative coup de force won not only universal critical praise but its time slot. It went on to take the Prime Time Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program for Programming Less Than One Hour.
The following November, Atlantic Records released an LP record album of music from the program, plus other Christmas songs and released it as the "Claymation Christmas Celebration: The Soulful Soundtrack Album From the Emmy Award-Winning TV Special." This is that very soundtrack. It's been out of print for some time.
Condition
This copy is in terrific condition. Vinyl is excellent: Glossy, clean, no visible flaws, scratches or scrapes. Label is clean and flat with no cracking, fading, or yellowing. The sound? No snaps, crackles or pops, no surface noise past the lead-in grooves.
Cover is rated G+ but it's actually much better: clean, no significant edge or ring wear, corners are sharp, spine is completely readable with extremely little wear, front and back panels are glossy and fingerprint free. The only minor flaw is a few short wrinkles from the spine radiating inward, the longest one being roughly1/2".
These
are records I collected over the last 40 years. I
bought many of them new and have kept them that way. Others I
bought used or traded for were thoroughly cleaned and
stored properly. As I mentioned, I clean each again before I ship it.
If an album came with printed sleeves or other promotional
items, I save them inside the cover along with the record.
If you like what you see, please come back...and thanks for looking.
