This is a fantastic and exceptional copy of a genuine and complete 1st UK Mono pressing of the all time classic Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band by the Beatles.
Featuring the original and much rarer wide spine, this LP is in Excellent Plus condition all round.
VINYL:
The vinyl is beautiful and shiny and has that just pressed look. The vinyl is almost free from any damage. There is 1 light hairline and a couple of paper scuffs but these do not impact on the sound at all and are barely noticeable. Realistically graded as VG+ to EX
LABELS:
The labels are clean and free from marks and has only very light spindle wear which suggests that this has hardly been played.
OUTER SLEEVE:
The outer sleeve is easily in EX+ condition. There is a small amount of creasing to the laminate inside of the gatefold near the spine, but that was one of the issues with the wider spine and does not detract from the condition greatly. Please have a good look at the photos. The laminate is on the whole very bright and clean. There is little if any edge wear and the spine is in great condition also. The sleeve easily grades as NM.
Most importantly the sleeve features the exceptionally rare wide spine and is highly collectible. I have photographed the spine next to a (very tatty) normal 1st press copy so you can clearly see the difference.
INNER SLEEVE:
It comes with the original inner sleeve which is in EX condition, with only a few light creases.
CUT OUT:
This comes complete with the original cut outs sheet in mint condition.
MATRIXES/STAMPERS:
This is a genuine 1st press and as such has the matrix numbers XEX 638-1 and XEX 637-1. It has the mother 3 and stamper MR on side 1 and a O stamper on side 2. These are very early stampers from the initial run. Please see photo for more details from label. It also is stamped with the KT tax code, and as can be seen in the photos has the "sold in the UK" statement.
Overall this is a highly playable and excellent copy of this rare and sought after first Mono pressing. Try and find another "Wide Spine" copy in EX to NM condition.
