Here's a Scarce New Zealand pressing of the Magical Mystery Tour & Other Splendid Hits LP, issued in 1969 

An Original 1969 STEREO APPLE LABEL pressing 

The first thing I will say is...

THIS LP IS UNIQUE!!! 

This LP was released around 1969 after the World Record Club had released their own version both in New Zealand and Australia.

Before the more common version of Magical Mystery Tour LP was released, New Zealand opted to release a completely different version. 

Using the picture from page 10 of the booklet that came with the USA version as the cover of the LP, EMI New Zealand allocated a unique Parlophone catalogue number (PCSM 6084) but pressed the LP on the APPLE label!

What makes this release different and more collectible than the WRC release is two fold. 

Firstly as mentioned, the record appears on the Apple label with a catalogue number unique to HMV New Zealand (the 6000 series was designated for HMV Parlophone NZ releases). 

Secondly, the cover has NO mention whatsoever of Apple, in fact all reference is to Parlophone!

The matrix numbers are SMAL-1-2835-B24 and SMAL-2-2835-A23 #4, and they are hand written into the run-out grooves of each side, indicating the record was mastered from stampers  sent from Capitol Records USA. Also the Scranton USA logo also appears on each run-out groove! 

This scarce New Zealand 1960's Apple label pressing does not come up for sale very often at all, grab it while you can

CONDITION

VINYL Side 1 is VG to VG+ has light marks & a few moderate ones, 

Side 2 is VG+(+) just some light hairlines 

LABELS are Near EX to EX just some light spindle trails & some very light age spots

SLEEVE is VG+, it's a 2 piece Sleeve with 3 rear flipbacks, just has light handling / light rubbing

in fine condition
