Our GRADING
for pskorst (our sister 78 record ebay name) and us ( bigbillkorst ) is
simplified as follows strong V+, V+, strong V, V, weak V, V- and
Poor. A strong V+ in my book is going be nearly flawless--or very
light flaws--I rarely do a V++--a strong V+ is going be sharp with
little to very little wear. A strong V (not +) may have light
scratches--nothing significant--no digs here. I suggest trying one of
our strong V records or better to get an idea of where my grading is
at-- I am very aware of hair cracks, rim chips that affect grooves (and
will spot them) and will mention anything that (rule of thumb) you can
feel with your finger nail. Luckily my eye sight is good up close so I
strive to have very consistent grading. Packing
We ship these antique, fragile shellac records in cardboard squares
surrounded by padding, floating inside a 12" x 12" x 6" box. We have had
less then 5 problems with damage on 2800+ records shipped so far.
Peter
78RPM Columbia 1055D Charles Kaley, On a Dew Dew Dewey Day / It's a Million to One You're in Love V- This circa 1927 record is in V- condition with scratches/blemishes/scuffs -nothing too bad - moderate wear- a bit scruffy--assorted little flaws but no big use damages-scratches etc. Graded visually. Spindle holes and labels have light wear. Will be in a vintage heavy paper sleeve. See photos of both labels. Please email with any questions. Buy it now for $16.95, FREE shipping via US Media Mail to US addresses. TIPS: On playing these rough rare oldies (especially the Poors) we
are listing now--our expert (an 86 year old collector of 78s for 73
years with 55 years in radio broadcasting) recommends a GE RJG Mono
Cartridge (that's
1950's or 1960's type vintage equipment) or something similar to that,
floating
on the playing arm--you don't want too sensitive of a stylus on these
rough gems--we don't sell or know where to get this type of
equipment--we just sell the 78 records. Shipments outside the US will be much more, please inquire for quote. Tariffs/taxes/fees sometimes incurred on international shipments are responsibility of the buyer. Paypal accepted. Wisconsin residents add sales tax for their county. Please email with any questions.
