Comments: The classic album re-released on Record Store Day 2011, remastered by Steve Hoffman onto 2 x 45 rpm vinyl LPs for the ultimate sound - USA press on Pallas (see the back cover, bottom right corner).
Many judges rate this the best the album has ever, or can/will, sound.
A must for anyone with a half decent vinyl source stereo system.
The difference between a US Ken Perry cut original, and this release?:
"Well on all the more 'mellow' tracks - the 45rpm is the clear winner - 'songbird' and 'Oh Daddy' send shivers down my spine. On a track like 'Go Your Own Way' or 'You Make Loving Fun' - the US original rocks out more, but I think overall, I definitely prefer the 45rpm - the clarity and punch - the timbre of the drums, especially when they're hit hard - I'm getting tingles just thinking how good it sounded last night - I played it through twice it's that good - and I don't normally repeat the same music in the same evening! I paid £45 for this and it was worth every single penny, can't recommend this enough - the EU set, which is lovely vinyl and equally well packaged, is not worth it I'm afraid after you've heard the US version - my apologies as I know it's wrong to heavily 'slate' it but it's muddy and lifeless - I'm keeping my EU set purely to demonstrate the vast difference in sound between the EU and US press".
Already becoming harder to find.

*********************
I use the Goldmine Price Guide to determine the grade of all my records. I strive to PLAY grade all records as accurately as possible
The following is Goldmine's description of grades:
Mint (M) = No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains, labels or writing, tears or splits; nothing! SEALED (probably)
Mint minus (M-) = one tiny problem, not major. Hard to find unless you look very hard. JUST UNSEALED (probably)
Near Mint (NM) = A record or cover that is otherwise Mint but has one or two tiny, inconsequential flaws that do not affect play, and don't look too bad.
Very Good Plus (VG+) = Record or cover has been handled and played either infrequently or very carefully. That is an item obviously not perfect, but not too far from it.
On a disc, this could mean that there are light paper scuffs from sliding in and out of a paper sleeve, or the vinyl may have lost some but not all of it's original luster. Cover will have light ring wear, or tiny splits, or bends, but not all three!
Very Good (VG) = Record and cover will display visible signs of handling and playing, such as loss of vinyl luster, light surface scratches, groove wear, and spindle trails from countless spins on the turntable, or the cover will have bends, tears, splits, marks, ring wear or a combo of three or more of these. A VG record looks like it will have some audible surface noise when it is played, although any such noise should not overwhelm the musical experience. The cover will still look OK overall and one you would be proud to display, despite it's flaws.
