This original UK release from 1959 was purchased from Dobell`s basement used record dept. in the very early 60s. The disc plays without surface hiss or jumps. It has a few only very faint lines and one only heavier scratch and scuff mark at 12 o`clock on Sunny Side of the Street and another 30mm. scratch at 6 o`clock across I Know That You Know, none of which affects audio. No more than a handful of faint clicks throughout the album.
Titles:  On the Sunny Side of the Street, The Eternal Triangle, After Hours,            I Know That You Know.
Personnel: Dizzy Gillespie tpt., Sonny Rollins ten., Sonny Stitt ten., Ray Bryant pno., Tom Bryant bass, Charlie Persip drums.
Recorded  New York City  Nov. 1957 . As befits Columbia Clef, the UKs premier jazz label of the time, the quality of the recording is superb and all members of the sextet are in top form. No one tries to out do another, just six good friends enjoying the company and improvising swinging music of the highest quality. Even after 50 plus years, these sessions (on cd.) remain near the top of my play list.
The fully laminated outer sleeve is sound without splits or tears, but with a few shallow creases and small cracks along the spine. Removal of clear tape from the spine and edges of the slot has resulted in some faint staining and small losses of laminate from the front, three at the spine and one at the slot. The inner face of the laminate on the front is clouded and there is a large air bubble at the lower LH corner.
