Billy Joel
Greatest Hits Volume I & II

Label: Columbia C2 40121/40122

Condition: GateFold Sleeve VG+ / Vinyl VG+ (both), run-out groove stamped 'Sterling'

Great original pressing.

This LP comes from a great collection of about 1200 LPs I acquired in northern New Jersey. The collector was a big fan of jazz and classic rock. He was also a part-time audiophile and had a lot of original Deep Groove pressings as well as some half speed master pressings.  He owned a VPI machine and some of the LPs were housed in special Japanese-made VRP anti-static plastic sleeves. Be sure to check my other listings for more records on sale from this collection this week!

About me: I'm a 60's R'n'B DJ and collector. I'm thinning down my collection to make room for new acquisitions. I grade my records based on how I would BUY them, not how I want to sell them.

Payment:
PayPal. Required within 7 days of auction close or your order is cancelled and I will relist the item.

GRADING (Done visually, based on Goldmine)

Near Mint (NM or M-)
The record should show no obvious signs of wear and will be glossy/shiny. A sleeve should have no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling. No cracks, scratches or warps.

Excellent (EX or VG++)
One or two light marks visible on the disc at most, otherwise full gloss. No cracks, scratches or warps. Sleeve shows 1-2 marks, nothing too major, maybe at the edges.

Very Good Plus (VG+)
A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled.

Record surfaces may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences. Maybe also slight warps that do not affect the sound.

Sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly bent corners, or a slight seam split.

Very Good (VG)
Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during the intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.

Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers.

Good (G), Good Plus (G+)
A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise, scratches and groove wear. Tape, writing, seam splits, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object.
