The Heartbreakers (Johnny Thunders, Walter Lure, Billy Rath & Jerry Nolan) were at the centre of the London punk scene in 1977, having been invited by the Sex Pistols onto the infamous ‘Anarchy Tour’.  UK punks treated the US band as rock royalty because of their New York Dolls pedigree.  Malcolm McLaren had briefly managed the Dolls in NY.

Signing to The Who’s label, Track Records, they were treated to the best recording studios in London to record their only album, ‘L.A.M.F.’. 

But when the LP came out, there was universal criticism of the sound quality.  Journalists who’d been championing the band such as Jon Savage, Julie Burchill, Nick Kent, Tony Parsons et al criticised the ‘muddy mix’, and drummer Jerry Nolan left the band because of it.

Both Track and the Heartbreakers ran out of money and collapsed when the album didn’t sell to expectations.  Manager Leee Black Childers broke into the bankrupt Track offices to retrieve the multitracks and mixes (though not the master), leading to efforts to remix and recompile the album in ’84 and ‘94.

It comes together with a comprehensive, 16-page 12” booklet with a detailed 1975-78 Heartbreakers timeline, guitarist Walter Lure’s memories of punk London in 1977 and an intro by Thunders’ biographer Nina Antonia.

We also accept cheques from UK banks in Pounds Sterling, and UK Postal Orders.  Checks in US Dollars from US banks can be accepted with a $3 surcharge. 
PayPal ‘eCheque’ payments take a week longer to arrive, so expect a delay if you use that facility.  You can avoid eCheques by having a credit-card linked to your PayPal account. 
Orders paid by any method outside the PayPal system may also be subject to delays.

Postage
UK and particularly international postage charges continue to rise.  The amount we charge is what we expect to pay plus approx 20-30p for packing materials. 
Multiple items postage
If you are ordering multiple items, there will be automatic approximated reduction in postage costs – BUT make sure you order them together, not individually.  Depending on the weight of the items, the estimate may still be excessive.  If you want an accurate calculation then first put ALL the items into your basket, then don't pay but click on the 'Request total from seller' button in the shopping basket.  We'll then recalculate the costs for your combined items postage and send you an invoice.  The postage may or may not calculate as less.
Delivery time excludes weekends and Bank Holidays, which may be different in the UK from elsewhere. 
Packets to overseas destinations (particularly Italy, Russia, South America) often take longer than advertised due to local customs delays. 
Overseas post is by Royal Mail Air Mail Small Packet, for which there is NO tracking number.  Currently we don't regularly offer a 'signed for' or tracked service; but message us if your order is over £50 value and you'd like to add such a service.
Please note, the date printed on our postage is a day or two after we print it, ie it’s the date it remains valid until with Royal Mail, not the date of posting.
Packaging: For vinyl we generally use sturdy card cruciforms, not envelopes, and if not shrinkwrapped we remove discs from sleeves, to avoid sleeve splits.  For CDs we use corrugated cardboard, not jiffy bags.
