Irreverent and anarchic, the Bonzo Dog Band are one of Britain’s best-loved 1960s groups. But their eccentric brand of musical humour was not without precedent: they drew much inspiration from so called ‘novelty foxtrot’ records of the 1930s, which they lovingly learnt from 78 rpm discs.
This beautiful new release on the Flashback label is a deluxe double compilation LP, presenting the original versions of all such songs that the Bonzos recorded and performed live, including such classics as Jollity Farm, Hunting Tigers Out In India and Ali Baba's Camel.
Painstakingly remastered, it comes with a heavyweight embossed gatefold sleeve and a detailed large-format booklet, incorporating background notes and images.
In addition, the first 100 copies (exclusively available through www.flashbackmag.com) also come with a certificate personally autographed by the legendary 'Legs' Larry Smith, one of the founder members of the Bonzos.
Albums will be carefully packed with cardboard stiffeners.
