“Songs, Pictures and Stories of the Fabulous Beatles” by The Beatles released on U.S. Vee Jay Records Mono VJ 1092. 

Original ¾ gatefold cover.  Trail-off reads “63-3402”.  Version 2.  Black label, no brackets around “VJ” logo.

 

Vinyl Condition: VG / VG+

Several surface scuffs and hairlines, a few 1-inch long streaks and some marks, slightly feel-able streak on track 1 that doesn’t affect the play too much, on side 1.  Some spindle wear on side 1 label.  Several surface scuffs and some surface hairlines, very slight bubble warp on side 2.  Heavy spindle wear and three letters written on side 2 label.  Both sides play well with a light hiss between some tracks.

Cover Condition: VG

Light ringwear on back cover.  Some wear along top seam.  4-inch seam split in top right corner.  Moderate wear on the three other corners.  Light fading along parts of bottom seam and spine.  Three letters written on front cover above Paul’s illustrated head.  A couple of very faint small stain spots inside gatefold.  White paper sleeve (original?) still intact.

(S) Sealed – Record is still sealed, presumed mint.

(NM) Near Mint – Vinyl shows no obvious signs of wear.  Cover has no creases, punch holes, or bargain clips.

(EX+) Excellent Plus Vinyl looks clean but has a few paper sleeve scuffs or a faint visual mark under high beamed light.  Cover shows a very minor amount of wear.

(EX) Excellent – Vinyl has light paper scuffs or visual marks, may play with a light amount of surface noise at the beginning.  Cover has minor defaults that are explained in detail, may have hole-punch or bargain clip.

(VG+) Very Good Plus – Vinyl has light scratches and inaudible visual marks.  There may be a slight warp or a few pops and light surface noise.  Cover has a moderate amount of wear, corners may be worn, short seam splits, name written, or light ringwear.

(VG) Very Good Vinyl has scratches and visual marks, nothing that can be felt, with a moderate amount of surface noise.  Cover has typical amount of wear with creases, split seams, wear at corners, marks, stickers, ringwear.

(VG-) Very Good Minus – Vinyl has scratches and visual marks, some that can be felt.  Plays with surface noise with some ticks and pops, may skip once.  Cover shows heavy wear, may have many marks or long seam splits.

(G) Good – Vinyl has many scratches that can be felt, visual marks, and lots of surface noise and ticks and pops, may skip.  Cover shows lots of wear with rips and marks, is barely intact.

The LP, original sleeve, and jacket are separated from each other and placed inside of a plastic outer sleeve.

For double albums, the LPs are placed behind and in front of the jacket and placed inside of a plastic outer sleeve. 

The order is then secured between two cardboard stiffeners covered with bubble wrap in a cardboard record mailer with taped corners for safe delivery.
