This is the original 1963, DG, mono, “Van Gelder” stamped, “P” pressing of GRANT GREEN’s “Am I Blue” on the New York USA labels of Blue Note BLP 4139. Musicians include Grant Green, Johnny Coles, Joe Henderson, "Big" John Patton, Ben Dixon. VINYL is in absolutely beautiful condition, with only a few brief pops. Nearly 100% clean. A wonderful example of the Blue Note pressing as art. Excellent gloss.  No warps. No distortion. The music is clear as a bell, rich, forceful and dynamic. Tone is full, warm, and powerful. The New York USA (“R” under “Note”) Deep Groove (one side only) labels are in very good condition. See photos. Green sticker on one label. Front COVER is in nice condition; no spine split. Two one-inch top seam splits, one half-inch split lower seam. Original Blue Note picture sleeve included. Corners worn, upper corner crease to a bend. Spine is in very good shape, see photos. Minor ringwear, front and back, corners worn. The “43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket is also in nice condition, w/minor aging, marker mark, and signature. See photos. This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, Heed Quasar Phono stage and Quad S2 speakers.
