ART BLAKEY & JAZZ MESSENGERS "Moanin'" Blue Note 4003, DG, LAM, P, RVG Vinyl This is the 1959, first edition, Deep Groove, Laminated Cover, RVG stamped, "P"-pressing of ART BLAKEY & THE JAZZ MESSENGERS' "Moanin'" on "47 West 63rd" labels of Blue Note BLP 4003. Musicians include Art Blakey, drums; Lee Morgan, trumpet; Benny Golson, tenor saxophone; Bobby Timmons, piano;  Jymie Merritt, bass. VINYL plays with varying levels of surface noise (i.e, static, 静的 or うるさい,relative to the volume of the music/instruments) but with some tracks DEAD QUIET. Ensemble Instrumental sections are dynamic and strong with clean transients, powerful extension and full tone. Side 1, #1 more crackle than ticks or pops. Side 1, tracks #2 and #3 essentially quiet and free of noise. Occasional tick. Side 2, #1: lower level ticks and pops under music. #2 ticks beneath music. #3 dead quiet with occasional tick. No Skips. No Distortion. A few hairline marks, two or three feelable to fingertip. The "47 West 63rd " labels show some fading, otherwise clean, with spindle marks. See photos. LAMINATED  COVER is in very nice condition, some peeling at lower front seam. Corners worn. Top and bottom seams show cracking but no split. Spine shows 2" split in middle. "BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd Street, New York 23" back jacket shows ringwear, aging, otherwise clean! Please see photos.     This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Kuzma Stogi Stabi turntable, Shindo Allegro preamplifier, Shindo Haut Brion amplifier, Devore Fidelity O/93 loudspeakers.
